The Unmet Man
A work of fiction by me, Linda Lay, turned in as a graduate thesis in 2010 to the graduate writing program at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California. It's meant to be read in random order and I meant it to be on a website. My advisors didn't like that idea but here it is, 2023, and I feel I have to make it into the work I intended. Of course the parts are in an order, here on this website and it's natural to follow it, but let it be known that the author prefers that you explore on your own.
The central figure is Olive and the early 2000's is the intended "time crux." It's where Olive is when remembering or writing from and it's the the time lists or emails or diary entries were made.
Differently versions of several of the stories here were published in small publications over the years and have been read by me at art and literary events around Los Angeles and Monterey, California.
